Eternity of the Tides

Eternity of the Tides

And so castles made of sand, fall in the sea, eventually. -Hendrix

I’ve noticed, lately, that I spend a lot of time photographing water. It’s powerful, eternal, enchanting and dangerous. How can any reasonable girl resist those charms?

Thank you so much, John. I have actually been sitting on that photo since yesterday trying to figure out a good title. Haha Glad you like it!

Nice photo! I want to photograph water too, but it’s all frozen here.

Even frozen water is beautiful though! πŸ™‚ What type of water is near you? Lake? Pond? Waterfalls?

      • kirkistan January 6, 2015 at 6:26 pm #

Yes: all. Actually I responded because one thing I hope to do soon is to do some long exposures at a nearby lake and at a nearby waterfall. And a nearby river. But frozen water looks more like white football field at the moment.

Lol well, save the long exposure ambitions for warmer weather. For now, embrace the idea of ice and snow and beautiful light photos! πŸ™‚

Water is irresistible like the sirens who’s sweet voices brought sailors to their deaths. Wonderful photo. Love the title.

Fascinating…water is the perfect eternal subject…always changing.

    • seeingspotsphoto January 12, 2015 at 11:07 pm #

It’s true. You could probably sit in the same place all day on a beach somewhere and have a whole catalog of entirely unique images from that one sitting. It’s pretty incredible. πŸ™‚

I like how smooth the water looks! I’d like to try to get that effect next time I’m around a beach..which won’t be in a while, lol.

Long exposures can be a a fun challenge…except when it’s cold, then it’s mostly just a challenge. haha Can’t wait to see what you come up with next time you get to a beach. πŸ™‚

Thanks! I actually struggle a lot with getting the titles right, so it’s nice to hear you say that. πŸ™‚
